Victas V > 22 Double Extra

Reviewed on off- blade, FH MX-D max (52gr), BH V22 max (49gr). I played a long time with V15 extra max (48gr) both sides and a searched an improvment in term of spin with the same feeling. First, this is not an improvment of V15, it's a new rubber. It's closer to Tenergy 05 for the feeling : good mecanical grip, hardness 45° (definitely not 50°), bouncy but more linear than T05 (less than V15). More spin sensitive than V15, that's why the feeling is different, but not very sensitive like T05. So in comparison with V15 extra : faster, bouncier, little more spin sensitive, much more grippy, much better for service, same on block/short game/flick. The throw angle is to high for my FH because I play close to the table but it will be very suitable for mid distance player. I tried in max Hammond Z2, V22 and MX-D : speed MX-D >= V22 > Z2 ; grip V22 >> MX-D >> Z2 ; service V22 >> Z2 > MX-D ; short game Z2> V22 >= MX-D ; first topspin V22 > MX-D >> Z2 ; block Z2 >> V22 = MX-D ; counter topspin MX-D >>> V22 > Z2

This is a very good FH rubber. Tested a lot of rubbers and this rubber has a lot of control despite being such a fast rubber. Opening backspin balls is easy. Topspin is easy. Counterspin very easy. Even fishing from behind works well. For me this is the rubber that will stay on my racket for a long time. It is absolutely not tacky as people may say. It is very grippy instead. Feels not hard, I think it is because of the soft top layer. I play the blue version in 2.0mm. Fast enough for me. Played about 10 hours with it so I don't know if the durability is ok.

Very linear rubber, very spinny and not sensitive for spin

This is a very balanced offensive rubber which offers outstanding spin and control, along with good power/speed. I'd say it can be used on the forehand as well as the backhand. This rubber excels at touch play over the table, flicks, top spins and counter top spins, blocks. I'd say it shines at medium distance from the table or over the table (flicks). When used for looping, it tends to produce a low arc. Serving is excellent too. If I had to find a weakness, perhaps it'd be its price. In terms of durability, it's reasonable, it depends how well it's maintained: protective film and liquid cleaner helps a lot It's not as bad as Tibhar K3, but not outstanding either.

Exceptional rubber in almosy every aspect. Serves topspins blocks are good. The only weakness is nonlinearity at hard strokes the throw angel goes very high. The grip is fantastic so the spinning is comparable with chinees tacky rubbers (far from table topspins are very dangerus but near table is hard to make a good quality shot). Good for close to table playing but shines at medium distance. The topspins are spiny and fast with short arm movement. The best rubber i have tried yet (even better than my current rubber hammond z2 in some aspects). Update after eight months playing with this rubber. There is something wierd about this rubber. At pure brushing imean when the spong is not engaged the spin is good and dwell is low but speed is very low at least on an off blade and when combine brush and drive the speed is very good and spin fantastic but the prefoance is somehow unpredictable specially on flexible blades and close to table. I still think that this rubber is exceptional but for top spin needs to relatively stiff blade. On stiff fast blade pure brush workes well and the combination is for advanced players and on stiff lower speed blades off- or all+ control and spin will be fantastic but not too fast. On flexible blades is good for block and tack. And generally it not very good at chop and push.
